Privacy policy

This policy explains how BlindDesk handles personal data when businesses and their teams use our website, web application and mobile application.

Who we are

BlindDesk is a trading name of Achilles Media Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 16940963. Questions about this policy or your personal data can be sent to hello@blinddesk.co.uk.

The data BlindDesk handles

We process account and company details, staff names and contact details, authentication and session information, subscription and billing records, support communications, and technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

Businesses using BlindDesk may enter customer and job information such as names, contact details, addresses, appointments, measurements, product specifications, quotations, orders, invoices and payment records. The subscribing business controls this customer information and Achilles Media Limited processes it to provide BlindDesk.

How we use data

We use personal data to provide and synchronise the service, authenticate users, calculate and manage business records, provide support, administer subscriptions, protect accounts, prevent misuse, improve reliability and comply with legal obligations.

Our lawful bases may include performing a contract, complying with legal obligations and pursuing legitimate interests in operating and securing BlindDesk. Where consent is required, it will be requested separately.

Sharing and international processing

We do not sell personal data or use customer records for third-party advertising. We may use carefully selected service providers for hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, payment processing, support and security. They may only process data for the services they provide to us and must protect it appropriately.

Where processing takes place outside the United Kingdom, we use appropriate safeguards required by data-protection law.

Storage, security and retention

BlindDesk uses technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Mobile authentication details are stored using the device's secure storage, and service traffic is encrypted in transit.

We retain data while an account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security and meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to receive a portable copy. If your information was entered by a business using BlindDesk, contact that business first because it normally controls the customer record.

You can contact us at hello@blinddesk.co.uk. You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Account deletion and policy changes

Instructions for requesting deletion are available on our account deletion page. We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published here with its effective date.
